Works by Suzette Lebenzon

A native of Scituate, MA, Suzette now keeps her home in studio on Cape Cod. She has painted all her life. While the ocean and marshes have been consistent themes in her work, recently, trees and woods are serving as her muse.  “I am drawn to the peace and solitude of the woods. The geometry of the horizontals in the terrain, against the vertical rhythms of the trees, is visually pleasing to me, “says Lebenzon. Suzette sometimes represents the trees in negative silhouettes, void of detail, but completely understandable to the viewer. She is not shy to scratch in textures with her palette knife or the back of her paintbrush and to use bold colors. “I find a walk in the woods is a mediative experience.  It can be very spiritual. I hope this resonates in my paintings.” -Suzette Lebenzon
